Is it safe to withdraw cash in Gibraltar or not?
ATMs in Gibraltar are modern and often built into secure walls near active areas. I wouldn’t worry about nighttime safety - just avoid secluded side streets and you’re fine.
There’s an ATM near the cable car station that I used after sunset. No trouble at all, and even though it was quiet, I didn’t feel uncomfortable. Gibraltar has one of the lowest crime rates I’ve experienced.
I withdrew money near Casemates Square around 9:30 PM. Lots of people still out, and the ATM was embedded in a commercial bank building. It didn’t feel risky at all - the whole place has a calm, well-monitored vibe even late.
In Gibraltar’s Main Street area, I used a NatWest ATM after 10 PM - streetlights were strong, and a few bars were still open nearby. It worked with my Revolut card, and the setting felt completely safe. ATM use at night in Gibraltar is no concern in central tourist zones.
