Is it safe to withdraw cash in Fiji or not?

I was staying in a rural part of Vanua Levu. After sunset, there wasn’t a single open ATM nearby. In most parts of Fiji, people do their banking early, and tourists are advised to do the same.

Used a BSP ATM inside a resort on Denarau Island around 10 PM. The area was well-secured, and the transaction was smooth. Resort ATMs seem the best choice for nighttime withdrawals - safer and less likely to be out of cash.

Suva has a bunch of reliable ATMs - I used one from ANZ Bank after dinner on Victoria Parade. The area was still active, and the machine worked without issues. Some locals warned me about phone snatchings though, so I stayed alert.

In Nadi, I used a Westpac ATM outside a supermarket at 9:30 PM. The street had decent traffic, and a security guard was nearby. ATM safety at night in Fiji felt okay in populated zones, but I wouldn’t advise it in outer villages or quiet beach areas.
