Is it safe to withdraw cash in Bora Bora or not?

ATMs here aren’t risky - they’re just not always available. Most tourists bring enough cash or use credit cards at resorts. Withdrawals after dark aren’t common, and that’s more a matter of access than safety.

After returning from a sunset cruise, I tried an ATM near the ferry terminal, but it was already locked. The entire area was quiet. Bora Bora isn’t unsafe at night - there’s just no real infrastructure open late.

I stayed at a resort and used an on-site ATM which worked with my foreign card. Staff said most guests withdraw cash during the day when in town. Bora Bora’s ATMs are few and far between, and it's best not to rely on nighttime access.

On Bora Bora, ATMs are limited. I used the Banque de Polynesie ATM near Vaitape around 8:30 PM, but it was inside a building that closed shortly after. The area felt completely safe, but access to machines late is unreliable. Cash withdrawal in Bora Bora at night is technically safe, but logistically tricky.
