In planning mode - how much budget should I keep in mind for Seychelles - any experiences?

I thought Seychelles would be out of reach but managed 8 days in June on SCR 1,300/day. Ate a lot of fish curry at local takeaway stalls (SCR 80-120), and used shared taxis and buses. Did two beach picnics instead of a fancy dinner. One day dolphin cruise cost me SCR 700. It's not exactly backpacker cheap, but with SCR 1,200-1,400 you're set for clean lodgings, local eats, and a handful of fun activities.

Spent a month working from Beau Vallon in March 2025. Averaged around SCR 1,500/day - included a studio rental with kitchen, fresh fish and produce from markets, groceries, and few meals out. I hired a scooter for SCR 200/day to explore beaches. Internet and coworking were reliable but slightly pricier than home. Tours and boat trips were occasional extras at SCR 500-1,000 each. Overall, SCR 1,400-1,600/day was comfortable without resort-level costs.

I budgeted around SCR 2,000 (~US $150) per day in April 2025. That allowed medium-range guesthouses, tuk-tuks, fresh seafood dinners, and a day snorkel cruise. Ferry trips to La Digue and boat excursions hit SCR 400-600 extra. Local bus rides were SCR 10-30, cheap. Tipping isn’t expected much, but I'd round up now and then. If you want comfort plus a few splurges, SCR 1,800-2,200/day is realistic.

Spent 10 days across Mahé and Praslin in May 2025 with roughly SCR 1,200 (~US $90) a day. I stayed in dorms or local guesthouses, cooked some meals from the market, and used local buses for transfers. I squeezed in a couple of ferry trips and snorkel tours. It wasn’t fancy, but I never felt I was scrimping. If you want a few meals out and occasional island excursions, SCR 1,200-1,500/day gives you a solid buffer.
