Looking for reliable ATMs in Zimbabwe that work well with foreign debit/credit cards and dont charge crazy fees. Any recos will be highly appreciated.

I used my Mastercard at CABS ATMs in Mutare and Harare in June 2025. The withdrawal process was smooth, and the receipts were clear - ZWL equivalent, fee breakdown, and remaining balance. Their machines are newer and don’t time out too fast. I found the daily limit around $400, which suited me fine. Stick to bank-branded machines in secure locations only.

Don’t trust the random ATMs at petrol stations. I lost ZWL 50,000 on a failed withdrawal in Masvingo. Best banks were CBZ and Stanbic. Used my Visa debit card, max was $300 equivalent per day. The fees sucked but at least the machines worked. Keep your card visible at all times - people behind you often crowd in close.

In Vic Falls I used FBC Bank ATM near the OK supermarket. My Wise card worked fine - got $200 USD in one go, $6 fee. ZB Bank and CBZ both gave me issues with “card not supported” errors. Also, always press “Decline Conversion” - their DCC rates are brutal. If you’re doing safaris, pull out enough before leaving town. Remote areas have no functioning ATMs.

I use a Revolut card and had consistent luck with Stanbic Bank ATMs in Harare and Bulawayo. They usually allow up to $400 USD equivalent per day, and the fee was around $5-6. CABS worked fine too. Just avoid Ecobank machines - they froze once mid-transaction and didn’t return the card until the next day. Withdraw early in the day; machines sometimes run out by evening.
